The Venue
Located in the heart of Philadelphia, the Down Town Club was founded over a century ago as a gathering place for the city’s elite. Situated just across the street from Independence Hall, it offers stunning views of Old City and the Delaware River.
The building’s Georgian Revival style evokes the elegance of the Industrial Revolution—a period of modernization that still feels timeless today. Original brass chandeliers, updated with sheer organza shades, hang from soaring ceilings, while the inlaid marble floors create a chic yet historic atmosphere. The space perfectly balances sophistication, grandeur, and the charm of a century-old venue.
The Service at The Down Town Club
Booking the Down Town Club means more than reserving a venue—you’re gaining the expertise and full-service experience of the Cescaphe team. The group includes an Event Manager, Event Coordinator, Event Chef, Maître D’, and Head Server for the bride and groom’s parents. Their complete event management team and high-end amenities ensure every celebration is seamless and luxurious.
The venue accommodates 125–220 guests in its 3,500-square-foot ballroom, perfect for dancing the night away. When couples choose to host both the ceremony and reception at the venue, an extra half hour is added to the six-hour affair at no additional charge.
Additional amenities include clear Chiavari chairs, over 200 designer linen options, a private bridal suite, a three-course custom menu with 60–70 entree choices, a full-service bar, a custom-designed four-tier cake, and even a hand-carved ice sculpture.
Cocktail Hour at The Down Town Club
One of our favorite aspects of the Down Town Club is their signature hour-and-a-half cocktail experience—and your guests won’t forget it! The venue offers two distinct cocktail spaces: a stylish foyer and the main cocktail room, both featuring stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. The foyer combines lounge seating, high-top tables, and a striking champagne display that welcomes your guests in style. The main cocktail room boasts breathtaking views of Independence Hall and an elegant white baby grand player piano. Guests can enjoy two chef-attended action stations, the venue’s famous seafood raw bar, and a full-service bar. Yes, please!
