Olivia & Max’s Wedding Day at The Pump House

We first met Olivia and Max during their engagement session at Blondie in Manayunk, and it didn’t take long to see how easygoing and fun they were. The two had actually known each other for 20 years before they started dating, growing up as neighbors and eventually finding their way from friendship to a relationship. It was so special to celebrate their love at The Pump House, where their personal style came through in a moody, edgy celebration filled with rich colors, warm florals, and plenty of character.

A Wedding at The Pump House

Located along the Schuylkill River in Bala Cynwyd, The Pump House is a unique wedding venue on Philadelphia’s Main Line. The 12,000-square-foot space blends industrial architecture with its riverside surroundings, offering several distinct areas for couples to use throughout their wedding day.

The venue includes the Main Hall & Garden, riverfront bar, covered outdoor Train Shed, and underground Speakeasy. Each area has its own atmosphere, giving couples plenty of ways to move through their celebration while staying within the same venue.

Olivia & Max’s Wedding Details

Olivia and Max chose a rich color palette of chocolate brown and navy, with warm orange florals bringing color throughout the day. A close family friend created all of the arrangements, making the florals an especially meaningful part of the celebration.

The couple also incorporated special details into their wedding-day looks. Olivia wore earrings that had belonged to her mother and that her mother had worn on her own wedding day, along with shoes gifted by her aunt. Max also wore special cufflinks.

First Looks & Wedding Portraits

Before the ceremony, Olivia shared a first look with her dad. She then shared a first look with Max before the two took portraits around The Pump House and its surrounding areas.

The industrial architecture, river views, and covered outdoor spaces offered plenty of variety for their portraits, all within the venue’s distinctive setting.

A Wedding Ceremony by the River

Olivia and Max exchanged vows outdoors beneath the covered Train Shed overlooking the Schuylkill River. The open-air setting brought the river into view while the covered structure provided shelter for guests.

Warm orange florals and their rich color palette added contrast against the greenery and industrial elements surrounding the ceremony.

Celebrating at The Pump House

Following the ceremony, cocktail hour took place at the bar, which remained open throughout the evening. The reception followed in the Main Hall & Garden, where Olivia and Max celebrated with around 165 family members and friends.

The spacious setting brought everyone together for dinner, dancing, and the rest of the evening.

Samantha & Ralph’s Summer Wedding at Normandy Farms

Sometimes the sweetest love stories begin in the most unexpected places. For Samantha and Ralph, theirs began right next door.

Sam’s family moved to Central New Jersey in 2020, and Ralph’s grandparents happened to be their next-door neighbors. After about a year of living next door, Ralph’s grandmother and Sam’s mom introduced the two of them. From there, their relationship grew into something more, and they spent the next few years building a life together.

Now Samantha and Ralph are officially married and beginning their next chapter together, and we had the absolute pleasure of capturing their big day.

Normandy Farms

Sam and Ralph toured four different venues while looking for the right place to get married. After seeing their options, they decided Normandy Farms was the perfect fit for their day.

With its beautiful grounds, historic architecture, and natural scenery, the venue offered a mix of classic architecture and outdoor settings that worked perfectly for their day. It also gave them a variety of backdrops for portraits while keeping everything in one location.

Their day at Normandy Farms included their first look, private vows, portraits, outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, allowing everything to flow naturally from one part of the celebration to the next.

Morning of

The morning began with Sam and Ralph getting ready separately, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Sam spent the morning with her three bridesmaids, while Ralph got ready alongside his three groomsmen. There was plenty of excitement and anticipation as everyone prepared for the celebration ahead.

Sam had a few meaningful details planned throughout the morning, including a special bracelet she gifted to her mom and engraved cufflinks she gave to her dad. She also carried a charm featuring her late grandparents on her bouquet, keeping their memory close throughout the day.

For Ralph, the morning included the traditional finishing touches as he got ready with his groomsmen, from helping with his bowtie and jacket to spending time together before the day officially began.

Both sides of the wedding party brought their own energy to the morning, creating plenty of candid moments before Sam and Ralph finally saw each other.

First Look & Private Vows

After getting ready, Sam and Ralph met for their first look in the Grand Garden at Normandy Farms. After spending the morning apart, they finally saw each other and took in the moment together.

They also shared their vows privately, creating a quiet and personal moment before moving into the rest of their portraits.

Portraits

After their first look and private vows, Sam and Ralph spent time taking portraits around the grounds of Normandy Farms. They wanted a mix of classic portraits and candid images, including romantic portraits with Sam’s veil flowing in the wind.

Their three bridesmaids and three groomsmen then joined them for wedding party portraits, followed by family portraits before the ceremony.

The ivory and gold color palette added an elegant touch to the portraits, while the candid moments kept the images feeling natural and personal.

Ceremony

With sunshine overhead, Sam and Ralph exchanged vows during a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Normandy Farms. Sam’s brother officiated the ceremony.

Family played a big part in the day, with most of the bridesmaids and groomsmen being family members. Sam’s brother also had another special role as the ring bearer, walking down the aisle alongside his nephew.

Surrounded by the people closest to them, Sam and Ralph officially became husband and wife during a heartfelt ceremony filled with happy tears and genuine emotion.

Cocktail Hour & Reception

Cocktail hour featured several personal touches from Sam and Ralph, including photos from throughout their relationship, customized napkins, a signature drink sign, and bowls filled with custom matchbooks. Instead of a traditional guest book, they had a perpetual calendar for guests to sign as a keepsake from the day.

The celebration continued in Normandy Farms’ Grand Ballroom, where their ivory and gold color palette created a classic setting with simple greenery throughout the room. Sam danced with her dad and grandmother, while Ralph danced with his mom and grandmother. Sam’s dad, Larry King, also gave a speech and toast.

Most importantly, Sam and Ralph wanted their reception to be a party where everyone could get on the dance floor and have a great time. By the end of the night, their family and friends had filled the dance floor, celebrating right alongside them.

It was such an honor to capture Sam and Ralph’s wedding day and all the moments that made it uniquely theirs.

“The team at New Pace were amazing and one of our favorite vendors of our wedding day! They made us feel reassured and excited to work with them from start to finish – Jen’s communication was always timely, warm and helpful, and working with our videographer was a highlight of our wedding day! They made our experience natural, fun, and always had such a great attitude. Their work captured our emotions of the day beautifully, and made us cry all over again. “New Pace has been so amazing! We decided to have a videographer pretty close to our wedding and it was 100% the best decision we could have made. Photos are one thing but to have the day captured live is so beyond special. Josh was our videographer and he was so kind and friendly, worked perfectly with our photographers. He went above and beyond for us, was flexible and patient throughout the day. We were shocked at the footage he got because he was never ever in the way and got every little detail and special moment just right. Jen and her production team are responsive, professional, sweet and so easy to work with. We couldn’t be happier with our wedding videos and could not more highly recommend New Pace Weddings!“

“New Pace was by far one of my favorite vendors to work with! They were insanely helpful throughout the entire process from start to finish. We rescheduled our wedding 3x due to covid, and each time the New Pace team was there to willingly help with any date changes, venue changes, and everything else in between! Jenny, Laura, Jen and the entire New Pace team is unmatched! Our videographers were absolutely AMAZING on our wedding day. They made us both feel so incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and our video shows for it. They had such great ideas to video throughout the entire day (also it was in the pouring rain). We have watched our wedding highlight video thousands of times, and each time it makes me cry and smile all at the same time. It will never get old. The amount of amazing compliments we have received on our trailer from friends, family, and beyond is insane!! I cannot wait to see our entire wedding video as I know it will be nothing short of amazing. Also shout out to the editing team, I couldn’t dream of a better highlight video that includes everything special about our day and more! Thank you so much to the entire New Pace team!!!!!!“

“From day one New Pace was SO accommodating. They answered every question and concern. I had searched around for a videographer and when I saw their work, I knew nothing else compared to the quality. When I received my own video, it did not disappoint. It was absolutely perfect. I even wanted to change 1 or 2 things, and they were SO nice about it. We just had a celebration a few days ago (since we were married during the pandemic) and we played our video for all to see. People were amazed at the quality, as were we. We even had the drone come out. Everything was perfect. I cry every time I watch it. It allows me to relive my wedding day over and over. Best decision I made during the wedding planning process!”

Jamie & Ryan – Falls Manor

Jamie & Ryan- Falls Manor

“I am somebody who is obsessed with videos. When something special is happening in my life, I am the first person to whip out my phone and start recording. For this reason, I spent a good amount of time researching and finding a videographer for our wedding. . . I couldn’t be happier that I hired New Pace. Our assigned videographer from New Pace made sure to get everything, both small and big moments, on film. New Pace was easy to work with and very accommodating throughout the entire wedding process. Our videographer listened and took notes on every single thing that I specifically wanted recorded on the day of, and was not intrusive at all. He also worked very well with my photographer which was a relief for me as the bride. My friends and family cannot wait to see our sneak peak video and I can’t wait to cherish our full length video for years to come. A videographer is often an expense that people are on the fence about; I can’t recommend New Pace enough and they were worth every penny!”

Jamie & Ryan’s wedding was held at Falls Manor in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Falls Manor has an elegant & classic feel to the space. Features of the venue include: 3 ballrooms/2 bridal suites, gold toned modern yet classic furniture, a light wall filled with strings of lights, complete with elegant floors and a spacious lobby for weddings of any size.
